A friend said to me recently, “I love how passionate you are about what you do”.
Everyone in life has something that comes easily to them – sometimes it just takes a little time to learn what that is.
I’ve truly found my calling in life. I don’t just mean cooking up a pizza in the back of my truck.
I mean, I do love that and I love being around people – so yes, it’s a pretty dream job.
But why do I do what I do?
Well, a few years ago, I was living in Italy. The culture there is very different but there was one key thing I took away.
Meal times were about bringing people together. And this is something engrained in our values. At the end of the shift, we even cook a pizza and the team share a meal together.
My time in Italy really inspired some of my recipes and we’ve put a local spin on them too.
And I think the warm welcome we had being involved in the Hull City of Culture really confirmed this. We’ve grown from strength to strength – I say we because it was just me, I now have a team that work with me.
Business can be ruthless but also very flattering too – my passion has only grown when I see others try and copy what we do and be so blatant about it. It certainly means we’re doing something right.
Our focus on detail takes a lot of effort, but it is clearly worth it. From our Italian trucks, original recipes, local relationships and carefully selected ingredients.
But it always returns to why we do what we do – bringing people together and giving them something great to talk about.
Whether it’s a local event, a party, a wedding, a business lunch, team bonding or staff appreciation gesture – we bring people together over good quality food inspired by you, our local people, supporting a local dream – so thank you!
If you have an idea, share it with us and we can make it work for whatever your event is.
What can you expect from our blog going forward? We’ll continue sharing. Recipes, tips, good old pizza debates and more light hearted fun bringing people together.
Do keep your eyes, peeled on our blog or like us on the social media channels you’re on. You’ll find out first about some great local events, where you can get your hands on pizza and even our own events.
Until then, #pizzapower from the one and only Pizza Mamma.
